It All Begins With Empathy
This piece started with a simple but powerful goal: center the lived experiences of people with Long COVID. Inspired by stories in the Health+ report, we developed a concept that brought humanity to the data—something emotionally honest, visually grounded, and built to connect with viewers on a deeper level.
Draw Them In
We chose hand-drawn illustrations to soften the tone and make the story more approachable. The visual style helped communicate difficult experiences in a personal, non-clinical way—making space for empathy while ensuring the content remained clear, engaging, and relatable.
Make It Move, Make It Matter
With subtle animation and purposeful motion graphics, we brought the visuals to life. Movement added rhythm and emphasis—helping guide the story, hold attention, and give emotional weight to key themes. The result: a message that not only informs, but sticks.
